KITTITAS COUNTY, WA — A 20-year-old Fife man was hospitalized early Sunday after a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 90 near Vantage, according to iFiBERONE.
The Washington State Patrol said the crash happened on the eastbound lanes in an area west of the city.
An early investigation shows the young man was behind the wheel of a 2017 Hyundai Elantra going eastbound when he veered off the right side of roadway. The Elantra then hit a rock wall before coming to a stop on the right shoulder.
The driver, who was said to have not been wearing a seat belt at the time, suffered undisclosed injuries. He was transported to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.
An investigation into the cause of the wreck remains in progress, but the WSP have determined impairment to be a factor.
