News: 1 injured in collision on SR-18 EB near east Auburn

KING COUNTY, WA — At least one person was hurt late Monday morning due to a two-vehicle crash on State Route 18 near east Auburn, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

The wreck took place on the eastbound highway past the exit to Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road, on a bridge over the Green River. It was first reported by Valley Regional Fire Authority at at 10:39 a.m.

No details have been provided regarding the cause of the crash, but  a passenger car and a box truck were involved. The Washington State Department of Transportation said a five-mile traffic backup had formed past SR-167 as a result.

By 11:35 a.m., the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened.

At this time, the exact number of people injured and the severity of their condition have not been confirmed.
