SKAGIT COUNTY, WA — A medical helicopter was called for at least one person Wednesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 20 near east Sedro-Woolley, reports the Washington State Patrol.
The accident occurred near Lyman Hamilton Road at milepost 72 and was first reported by Trooper Jacob Kennett at 9:11 a.m.
Officials did not say what led up to the collision, but three vehicles were involved.
At the time of the initial report, at least one patient was being prepared to be flown to an area hospital, suggesting major injuries.
The highway was shut down in both directions during the emergency response.

At 10:00 a.m., SR-20 remained completely blocked as tow crews worked the scene.
