News: KCSO deputy injured in crash with DUI suspect near Monroe

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A King County Sheriff’s Office deputy was seriously hurt Wednesday in a collision on U.S. Highway 2 near Monroe, reports KOMO News.

The wreck occurred at milepost 19, east of the intersection with Fern Bluff Road.

Few details have been provided at this time, but officials said the deputy’s vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle.

The deputy suffered a “severe” injury to his hand, in addition to other undisclosed injuries.

It was unclear whether the other driver was hurt, but they were arrested for suspected intoxication.

An investigation was in progress.
