KING COUNTY, WA — Multiple emergency crews responded to a crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 90 near north Mercer Island, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident occurred on the westbound lanes just west of Island Crest Way, near the Mercer Island Park and Ride. It was first reported by the WSDOT shortly before 7:55 a.m.

No details have been shared regarding the cause of the wreck, but the HOV lane and the left general purpose lane were blocked in the aftermath.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m., the Washington State Patrol, WSDOT’s Incident Response Team, and Fire Assistance crews had responded to the scene.

Commuters were told to expect delays in the area.

By 8:25 a.m., more than 30 minutes later, the scene had been cleared from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to traffic.

It remains unclear at this time whether anyone was injured.
