KING COUNTY, WA — Multiple people were seriously injured Monday afternoon in a crash involving a parked semi-truck on Maple Valley Highway near central Renton, reports Renton Police Department.
The accident occurred in the 2200 block of the highway near Henry Moses Aquatic Center. It was first reported by the RPD at 1:43 p.m.
No details have been shared on the circumstances behind the event, but authorities said a passenger vehicle collided with a parked semi.
Several occupants in the passenger vehicle suffered serious injuries.
A section of the highway was shut down in both directions during the emergency response. Motorists were asked to detour around the scene.
