SEATTLE, WA — A 63-year-old man died Friday evening after being hit by a vehicle while riding a compact electric bike on West Seattle’s Spokane Street Bridge, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.

The fatal incident occurred in the area of Southwest Spokane Street and Klickitat Avenue Southwest, shortly before 6:55 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the cyclist was crossing Southwest Spokane Street when he was struck by an eastbound driver in a white or silver sedan. The driver was seen continuing east without stopping.

Seattle Police and firefighters administered life-saving measures, but the victim died from his injuries at the scene.

No further details have been provided at this time, but an investigation by the SPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad was underway.
