KITSAP COUNTY, WA — Two people were injured Tuesday night in a hit-and-run wreck involving a car that was stolen from the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal, reports KOMO News.

The collision occurred on the northbound lanes of State Route 305 at State Route 307, near Poulsbo. It was reported shortly after 11:00 p.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a male suspect had initially planned to steal a vehicle belonging to a Washington State Ferries employee, but ended up taking a passenger’s gray 2006 Audi A3 off the ferry Wenatchee.

The suspect was driving the Audi northbound on SR-305 when he ran a red light at the SR-307 intersection. Moments later, he hit a Toyota Camry traveling in the opposing lane.

Two occupants in the Toyota suffered undisclosed injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

The suspect, who has not been located since he fled the scene on foot, faces a felony hit-and-run charge upon his capture.
