KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A man died Wednesday afternoon after a high-speed motorcycle crash involving another vehicle in Bremerton, according to Kitsap Sun.
The fatal wreck occurred at the corner of Warren Avenue and 8th Street at around 1:00 p.m.
Bremerton Police said witnesses and a police officer observed two motorcyclists speeding southbound on Warren Avenue prior to the crash. The officer followed the riders to conduct a traffic stop when he encountered the crash scene.
An early investigation indicates one motorcyclist had struck a vehicle as the car was pulling out onto Warren Avenue.
Officials indicated the rider died from his injuries at the scene.
No injuries to the driver of the other vehicle were reported.
The second motorcyclist stayed at the scene. He was later arrested and booked into Kitsap County Jail for investigation into reckless driving. Officers said he was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
A section of the road was shut down for over two hours during the response. No further updates have been shared as of this writing.
