SEATTLE, WA — A 63-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after crashing his car into the front of a restaurant in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, reports Capitol Hill Seattle Blog.
Seattle police and fire crews responded to the scene at Coastal Kitchen, off the 400 block of 15th Avenue East, shortly before 7:15 p.m.
Officials believe the man was suffering a mental health crisis when he appeared to intentionally crash a black Kia sedan into the restaurant’s entrance.
After being extricated from the sedan by firefighters, the man was then examined and was transported to a hospital in stable condition for observation. Police said he was placed into custody for an investigation into DUI and property damage.
