KING COUNTY, WA — A woman was hospitalized Tuesday morning after crashing her car into Lake Washington in north Renton, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.
The accident happened at the end of Gene Coulon Memorial Park and was first reported by Renton police at 8:30 a.m.
It was unclear how the vehicle came to rest in the lake, but Renton firefighters initially believe two people were in the water.
Rescue swimmers and a dive team with Renton Regional Fire Authority later confirmed only one victim had been in the car at the time of the crash.
That patient was brought to the shore and evaluated by medics. She was then taken to a nearby hospital, where her condition remains undisclosed.
