KING COUNTY, WA — A 36-year-old Ellensburg man died early Monday after a collision that injured another person on Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass, reports iFiBERONE.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal wreck occurred on the eastbound interstate near milepost 52, shortly before 4:10 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found the man was driving a 1998 Honda Accord eastbound when, for reasons still being investigated, he lost control of his car. The Honda spun and came to rest on the roadway, where its driver’s side was then hit by another vehicle driven by a 64-year-old Edmonds woman.

The driver of the Honda died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed troopers.

Medics transported the other driver to a local hospital, where her condition remains undisclosed.

All eastbound lanes of I-90 in the area were shut down for several hours during the response.

An investigation remains ongoing.
