News: Driver dies after stolen car hits dump truck in Spanaway

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died Thursday morning after crashing a stolen vehicle into a dump truck in northeast Spanaway, reports FOX13 Seattle.

Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene on Spanaway Loop Road South at about 10:09 a.m.

Officials said a sedan had recently been reported stolen from the front of a Lakewood convenience store, where it had been left running.

As the driver was emerging from a turn, they drove across the center turn lane and collided with the front-end of a dump trailer.

The driver died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed deputies. No other occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

No injuries to the truck driver were reported.
