PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A man and a teenage boy were seriously injured Sunday morning due to a wreck involving a motorcycle in northwest Puyallup, according to The News Tribune.

The accident happened on a stretch of River Road near a Value Village store at about 10:20 a.m.

Puyallup Police said the man was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the road at a high rate of speed. As a car turned left from River Road into the parking lot of the store, the motorcycle struck the vehicle’s passenger side.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was rushed to an area hospital. Officials believe the rider was impaired at the time of the crash.

The teen, who was a passenger in the car, was also transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

No injuries to the driver of the car were reported.

Multiple lanes on the eastbound side of River Road were blocked during the investigation, causing delays in the area.

By 2:20 p.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.

As of this writing, no pending charges or citations have been reported.
