THURSTON COUNTY, WA — Two people were hospitalized Sunday after a two-vehicle crash that impacted a building and severed a gas line in Lacey, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.

Units with Lacey Fire District 3 responded to the scene at 16th Avenue and College Street. The accident was first reported by the department at 9:36 p.m., hours after the incident.

The circumstances behind the wreck are unclear, but officials said one vehicle struck a building and damaged a gas line. Firefighters had to extricated one occupant from that vehicle before transporting the patient to a local hospital.

Authorities said the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene but was later found by Lacey police. That person was also transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.

At this time, no pending charges or citations have been reported.
