SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A man died Monday night after being struck by a vehicle as he stepped into a road in Everett’s Glacier View neighborhood, reports KOMO News.

The fatal incident occurred as a driver in his late teens headed southbound on Evergreen Way at about 10:30 p.m.

According to the police, as the teen driver drove through the Pecks Drive intersection, a man entered the roadway and was struck.

The victim, believed to be in his 60s, died from his injuries. It was unclear whether he had been taken to a hospital.

Authorities said the driver remained after the crash and cooperated with officers. He was not suspected of impairment, and no criminal charges are expected to be filed.

The emergency response and investigation left Evergreen Way closed for multiple hours.
