PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person was seriously injured Sunday, May 8, when their motorcycle was hit by a DUI suspect on State Route 7 in south Spanaway, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.
The incident occurred on the southbound highway at Pirnie Road East and was first reported by the Washington State Patrol at 7:51 p.m. that evening.
Few details have been released, but officials said the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. As of this writing, no updates on their condition have been disclosed.
The driver of the car was arrested after being suspected of intoxication at the scene.
A left lane and center lane on the southbound side were closed during the emergency response and investigation.
