News: Motorcyclist killed in crash involving DUI suspect near south Everett

by | May 23, 2022 | Accidents in the News |

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person died last Friday night after their motorcycle was struck by a suspected DUI driver at a south Everett intersection, reports FOX13 Seattle.

Everett Police responded to the scene in the area of 112th Street and Evergreen Way on May 20, at around 8:30 p.m.

An early investigation shows a Honda Accord had turned in the path of an oncoming motorcyclist, causing a collision.

The rider, who was ejected from their bike in the impact of the crash, died from their injuries.

Two occupants in the Honda Accord initially led officers to believe the male occupant was the driver, but a further investigation challenged their accounts. Both occupants later recanted their statements and said the female occupant had been driving at the time of the crash.

Officers arrested the driver after suspecting her to have been under the influence of methamphetamine. Multiple paraphernalia recovered at the scene also supported the suspicion. The suspect was first taken to Providence Hospital and then later booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

No further updates have been shared at this time.
