KITSAP COUNTY, WA — Five people were hospitalized Friday night after a rollover crash down a steep embankment near the unincorporated Southworth community, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

South Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews responded to the scene near Banner Road and Southworth Drive, west of Southworth Ferry Terminal.

It was unclear what led up to the accident, but first responders arrived to find a passenger car that had come to rest on its roof 40 to 50 feet down the embankment.

All five occupants were able to self-extricate before crews reached them, but the extent of their injuries were not disclosed.

After the victims were brought back up to the road, four were transported to a hospital in Tacoma while one was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale.

At this time, no further information has been released.
