KING COUNTY, WA — Two people were hospitalized Tuesday night as a result of two collisions that occurred during a police chase near White Center, reports West Seattle Blog.

The crashes occurred on 16th Avenue Southwest, one at Southwest 104th Street and the other on Southwest 100th. They were first reported by dispatchers shortly before 8:33 p.m.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, deputies had begun pursuing a suspect they linked to an active investigation. Authorities said the PIT maneuver was used in attempt to end the pursuit, resulting in the two crashes. One suspect, who was driving a red pickup truck, appeared to have crashed his vehicle at the 104th Street intersection. He was later taken into custody.

Officials later confirmed two people suffered undisclosed injuries. One patient was taken to St. Anne Hospital in Burien, and the other was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

A section of 16th Avenue Southwest south of downtown White Center was shut down during the response.

No details on the other collision have been released as of this writing.
