PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person was injured early Friday in a hit-and-run crash involving a wrong-way driver on State Route 512 in Puyallup, reports FOX13 Seattle.

The multi-vehicle wreck occurred on the westbound lanes at Woodland Avenue East, shortly before 2:00 a.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a black F-250 pickup truck was heading eastbound in the westbound lanes when it collided with two other vehicles.

A driver in one of the victim vehicles suffered injuries, though the severity of their condition was not disclosed.

Shortly after the crash, the driver of the pickup truck and its occupants, described as all male, fled the scene on foot. They were last seen heading westbound near the tree line along the crash site.

All traffic was re-directed to 9th Street Southwest during the emergency response and investigation. By 6:30 a.m., the roadway was reopened to traffic.

Authorities continue to investigate.
