MASON COUNTY, WA — A 60-year-old Tacoma man is expected to be charged following a crash last Saturday that injured himself and a passenger on State Route 106 near Union, reports iFiberOne.

The Washington State Patrol said the collision occurred on the westbound lanes near Dalby Creek at about 1:00 a.m.

An early investigation indicates the man was driving a sedan westbound when he veered into the opposing lanes. The vehicle then traveled off the roadway and struck a large rock before landing in the nearby creek.

Both the driver and his passenger, a 45-year-old Turnwater woman, suffered injuries in the wreck. Both patients were transported to Shelton’s Mason General Hospital.

According to the WSP, drugs and alcohol did not contribute to the collision, but the driver faces charges due to negligence.

No further information has been released as of this writing.
