KING COUNTY, WA — One person died early Wednesday morning after their SUV collided with a tree in southwest Renton, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.
Renton police responded to the scene in the area of East Valley Road and Southwest 16th Street, shortly before 4:00 a.m.
An early investigation indicates the driver was speeding when their SUV veered off the road and struck a tree.
The victim died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities. No other occupants or vehicles were involved.
Sections of the road were shut down as first responders worked the area.
An investigation was underway, but at this time, police believe alcohol may have contributed to the fatal crash.
