KING COUNTY, WA — A 58-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle near West Hylebos Wetlands Park in south Federal Way, according to FOX 13 Seattle.
Federal Way Police Department said officers responded to the scene in the 900 block of South 348th Street shortly after midnight.
The circumstances behind the fatal incident are unclear, but authorities said officers found the man unresponsive and suffering from serious injuries consistent with a collision.
Officers rendered first aid to the victim before medics arrived, but he was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
No information has been shared regarding the suspect driver, but police said the vehicle was later located after its driver crashed into a building and fled the site.
An investigation was underway.
