PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person was hospitalized early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma’s South End, reports KOMO News.
The incident took place between South 70th Street and South 68th Street at approximately 4:38 a.m.
Little information has been provided at this time, but Tacoma Police Department said the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.
All northbound lanes of Pacific Avenue were shut down between the two intersections as police and fire crews responded to the scene.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m., more than five hours later, all lanes were reopened to traffic.
