BENTON COUNTY, WA — A woman was hospitalized Monday evening after a suspected drunk driver crashed into her home in east Kennewick, reports KOMO News.

The incident occurred at a residence near the intersection of East 3rd Avenue and South Gum Street at around 5:30 p.m.

Kennewick police said a 26-year-old male driver slammed into the front of the home, causing serious damage to the structure and injuring the woman, who had been in the living room area at the time of the crash.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The car’s three child passengers, all between the ages of 3 to 8, were evaluated by medics before family members arrived to take them.

Authorities said the driver was suspected of DUI at the scene and was subsequently arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail. He now faces three counts of reckless endangerment.
