SEATTLE, WA — Two people were hospitalized, one with critical injuries, after a house fire Saturday morning in north Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, according to King 5.

Seattle Fire Department crews responded to the scene in the 1100 block of Northwest 65th Street at around 9:00 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire, but authorities said medics administered life-saving measures on a female patient who was rescued from the home’s top floor. She suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center.

Another man was also transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries but was said to be in stable condition.

An SFD firefighter suffered minor injuries but did not appear to require hospitalization.

SFD confirmed six other residents have been displaced by the event. One cat was also killed in the fire and another has not been located.
