KING COUNTY, WA — Three people were injured early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run collision on State Route 167 near northeast Kent, according to KIRO 7 News.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes near the exit to 212th Street at approximately 2:00 a.m.

Authorities said a vehicle was heading northbound when another car ran it off the roadway and into a ditch. The victim car then collided with a tree and burst into flames.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene and was last seen continuing northbound on the highway.

Crews with Puget Fire were able to extinguish the flames shortly after arriving at the site.

Three victims were reported hurt and received treatment at the scene, but it was unclear whether or not they were transported to a hospital.

An investigation by the Washington State Patrol was underway.
