News: Pedestrian hit, killed by Sounder South train near Kent

KING COUNTY, WA — A pedestrian died early Thursday morning after being struck by a Sounder South train near Kent, according to KOMO News.

The fatal incident occurred about a mile south of the Kent station some time after 6:35 a.m.

Sound Transit said train 1503 had been traveling southbound from the King Street station shortly before the incident.

Kent Police responded to the scene and all southbound trains were put out of service until about 8:15 a.m. as they resumed at a slower speed.

At this time, no further details have been shared on the circumstances behind the event.
