KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A 29-year-old Brinnon man was hospitalized Monday night after a two-vehicle accident involving a DUI suspect on State Route 305 near Bainbridge Island, according to The Leader.
Washington State Patrol said the collision occurred on a stretch of the highway just west of the Agate Pass Bridge at approximately 8:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 30-year-old Bainbridge Island woman was behind the wheel of a 2016 Jeep Wrangler going northbound when she failed to yield and struck a southbound 2003 Chevrolet Express van driven by a 43-year-old Brinnon man.
Authorities said a male passenger in the Chevrolet van suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. No updates on his condition have been released as of this writing.
Both drivers were uninjured in the crash.
According to WSP, the driver of the Jeep was determined to have been impaired at the time and faces a charge for DUI.
