WHATCOM COUNTY, WA — A man was hospitalized Friday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle while riding a lawnmower in south Bellingham, according to KIRO 7 News.
Bellingham police said the incident occurred in the 900 block of South Samish Way, just south of the Elks Lodge, shortly before 1:30 p.m.
The circumstances behind the crash are unclear, but authorities said the victim was on a John Deere lawnmower when he was hit by a driver in a white sedan.
An investigation was underway to determine the identity of the suspect driver, but police did not say whether or not the event was a hit-and-run collision.
No updates on the victim’s condition have been shared as of this writing.
