KING COUNTY, WA — Renton police have confirmed a driver died Tuesday night as a result of a two-vehicle accident in southeast Renton, and not gunshot wounds as was originally believed, according to King 5.
The fatal collision occurred at the corner of Rolling Hills Avenue Southeast and Puget Drive Southeast shortly after 9:00 p.m.
It was unclear what led up to the crash, but authorities said the driver and lone occupant of one vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Responding officers had discovered a handgun in the deceased victim’s vehicle
On Wednesday, Renton police were able to determine the victim was not shot but had suffered multiple, fatal blunt-force injuries consistent with the wreck.
No other injuries were reported in the event.
An investigation remains underway.
