PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A 53-year-old man died early Monday morning following a two-vehicle collision in southeast Tacoma’s Salishan neighborhood, reports KOMO News.
The fatal accident happened at the intersection of East Portland Avenue and East 44th Street at approximately 3:45 a.m.
According to Tacoma Police Department, the man crashed his vehicle into the back of another vehicle that was turning left onto Portland Avenue.
The victim died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed authorities.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone else was hurt.
A section of the the road near the intersection was shut down during an investigation.
