KING COUNTY, WA — Property damage and theft were reported early Friday after a driver slammed into a 76 gas station and stole an ATM machine near White Center, according to King 5.

The King County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred in the 11000 block of 1st Avenue South at approximately 3:55 a.m.

An early investigation indicates a driver in a black Chevy Silverado pickup truck crashed into the front of the station and fled the scene with the scene with the store’s ATM machine. Authorities said the store had been closed at the time.

Responding deputies were unable to immediately locate the suspect in the area, and as of this writing, no identifying information has been disclosed.

Fire crews also arrived on scene to evaluate the structural safety of the building following the collision.

No information has been shared regarding the extent of damage to the structure, but authorities indicated the ATM machine itself is worth thousands of dollars itself, not including the bills that were stored inside.
