by | Feb 3, 2022 | Accidents in the News |

SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle accident Thursday morning closed all northbound and southbound lanes on East Marginal Way South in Seattle’s Industrial District, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

The collision occurred at the Diagonal Avenue South intersection, near the Duwamish Waterway. It was first reported by SDOT shortly before 9:00 a.m.

Authorities initially indicated the closure of all southbound lanes, but by 9:12 a.m., the road was shut down in both directions.

At 11:30 a.m., the closure was updated to include a section of the road (SR-99) between South Royal Brougham Way and South Hudson Street.

No estimated clearance time was provided, but motorists were encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid delays in the area.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., about four hours later, all northbound lanes were reopened to traffic, and shortly before 4:00 p.m., all lanes were reported to have reopened.

As of this writing, no details have been shared regarding the parties involved or the circumstances behind the crash.
