SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A woman was injured Tuesday when her car was hit by a stolen truck fleeing a shoplifting scene at Lynnwood’s Alderwood Mall, reports KIRO 7 News.

Lynnwood police said the crash happened at the intersection of 184th Street Southwest and 36th Avenue West.

A preliminary investigation indicates a 27-year-old woman shoplifted items at the mall and then got into a stolen truck driven by a 36-year-old man. The man sped through multiple red lights before striking another car and injuring a female occupant in the victim vehicle.

Shortly after the crash, both the male and female suspects fled on foot. With the help of police K-9 Rico, responding officers located the female suspect behind the wrecked truck.

The male suspect was later found and apprehended by a Lynnwood Police Department sergeant. Authorities said he is facing multiple charges, including “felony DUI, reckless DUI, reckless driving, possession of a stolen vehicle, and hit-and-run.”
