News: Man, boy hospitalized after being hit by driver in downtown Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — A man and a 10-year-old boy were injured Monday morning when they were struck by a vehicle in downtown Seattle’s Chinatown/International District, reports King 5.

The incident occurred near the intersection of 4th Avenue South and South Jackson Street shortly before 8:00 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the the collision, but Seattle police said the driver fled the scene.

The pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by Seattle Fire crews to a local hospital in stable condition.

An investigation and search for the suspect driver was underway.

One traffic lane on South Jackson Street was shut down during the emergency response but was reopened less than an hour later.
