SEATTLE, WA — Two people were taken into custody early Thursday after a carjacking incident that resulted in two crashes at Seattle’s Colman Park, according to KOMO News.
The events first unfolded near 8th Avenue and King Street near Pioneer Square at approximately 11:00 p.m.
Authorities said a man was parking his car when he was approached by another man who struck him with a pistol and stole his keys, phone, wallet, and shoes.
Two hours after reporting the incident to police, the victim and a family member were able to track their stolen vehicle to the park. After spotting the suspects, officers attempted to block the exit points. The suspects then crashed into a patrol car and sped across the grass, ultimately hitting the park’s restroom structure.
Both suspects, a 20-year-old male driver and an 18-year-old female passenger, were arrested at the scene.
