KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A woman died Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle near the Blue Goose Tavern in Port Orchard, according to Kitsap Sun.
Port Orchard Police said the incident took place in the 1600 block of Bay Street at approximately 6:15 p.m.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash, but responding officers arrived to the scene after receiving multiple calls. A police officer administered chest compressions and first aid to the victim immediately, but the woman was pronounced deceased shortly after South Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews arrived on scene.
Authorities said the driver stayed after the scene and cooperated with an investigation. Officers do not believe impairment factored into the crash, and as of this writing, no criminal charges have been filed.
