PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A vehicle collision was reported Wednesday morning on Interstate 5 near the Puyallup River Bridge in downtown Tacoma, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident took place on the northbound lanes at milepost 135.28 and was first reported by WSDOT at 9:53 a.m.
It was unclear what led up to the event, but the right travel lane and onramp from Portland Avenue East were impacted.
By 10:05 a.m., the scene had begun clearing from the roadway.
Updated: Collision on I-5 NB at MP 135.28 near Puyallup River Bridge. Beginning at 9:53 am on Dec. 29, 2021 until further notice. The right lane on the mainline is blocked and the on ramp from Portland Ave. is partially blocked.
