News: Pedestrian fatally hit by train while walking near tracks in Sumner

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A middle-aged man died early Thursday morning after he was struck by a train near Sounder Station in Sumner, according to KOMO News.

Police said the fatal incident occurred in the 800 block of Maple Street shortly before 8:00 a.m.

It is unclear what led up to the event, but authorities said train crossings at Maple Street and Main Street were shut down as an investigation was conducted.
