PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person was seriously injured Monday evening in a multi-vehicle accident caused by a suspected DUI driver on State Route 167 near Sumner, according to The Seattle Times.
Washington State Patrol reported the crash on a span of SR-167 near SR-410 shortly after 7:40 p.m.
Details are limited, but a driver was taken into custody under suspicion of driving while impaired and causing the three-vehicle crash.
A passenger in the causing vehicle suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, confirmed WSP.
No other injuries were reported.
The event left the right lane closed for multiple hours as an investigation for vehicular assault was conducted.
