SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person was hospitalized last Thursday night after a suspected DUI driver struck a disabled vehicle on Interstate 5 in Everett, according to Q13 FOX.

The incident occurred on a span of I-5 at milepost 192 on October 28 and was first reported by Trooper Rocky Oliphant at 9:32 p.m.

According to Washington State Patrol, a car was pulled over to the shoulder of the interstate as it waited for tow crews after a prior collision. At one point, the suspected DUI driver struck the parked car and injured its sole occupant.

The victim suffered serious injuries considered non-life-threatening.

Two right lanes were blocked during the response, creating delays in the area.

No further information has been shared, but authorities said the scene was being investigated as a vehicular assault.
