BENTON COUNTY, WA — A 25-year-old man was hospitalized last Monday after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by a suspected drunk driver in west Kennewick, according to KEPR.

The collision occurred at the intersection of South Columbia Center Boulevard and West 4th Avenue on November 8.

Few details have been reported on the events leading up to the crash, but the victim was riding a 2002 Honda VFR800 when he was struck by the other driver.

The rider suffered multiple serious injuries, including compound fractures in his tibia, fibula, and femur, as well as a pelvic fracture, spleen laceration, and a small brain bleed.

Medics transported him by airlift to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center, where he has underwent about 15 hours of surgery to his left leg and hip. He also faces a future hip replacement.

Responding officers said the other driver, a 40-year-old man, displayed signs of intoxication at the scene. He now faces a charge of Vehicular Assault.
