News: Male pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by car in downtown Puyallup

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A man in his 30s was critically injured Saturday night when he was hit by a suspected DUI driver in downtown Puyallup, according to KOMO News.

Puyallup Police said the incident occurred on South Meridian near East Meeker at approximately 11:00 p.m.

A 62-year-old woman was driving south on South Meridian when her vehicle struck the male pedestrian at the intersection.

Authorities said the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

Responding officers suspected the woman of driving under the influence and arrested her after the crash.

No further information has been released at this time.
