News: Car stolen with toddler inside crashes on Highland Park Way in west Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — A child was evaluated at a hospital Thursday evening after a wreck involving a stolen vehicle in west Seattle’s Riverview neighborhood, reports West Seattle Blog.

The collision occurred on the hill at Highland Park Way Southwest and Southwest Othello Street. It was first reported by West Seattle Blog at 5:54 p.m.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, the events unfolded when a Nissan Leaf with a toddler inside was stolen near 15th and 100th in White Center at around 5:10 p.m. The child’s father was able to trace the car, resulting in a collision.

No significant injuries were reported, but the toddler was transported to Seattle Children’s Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Responding officers arrested the suspect at the scene and an investigation by the KCSO was underway.

Multiple lanes in the area were closed, causing delays in the area.
