News: Authorities search for hit-and-run driver involved in Belfair rollover wreck

MASON COUNTY, WA — A rollover collision caused by a hit-and-run driver was reported Tuesday afternoon on State Route near Belfair, according to iFiberOne.

Washington State Patrol said the accident occurred on a span of SR-106 south of Belfair shortly after 3:05 p.m.

According to an early report, one vehicle cut off another vehicle as it was coming out of a driveway, and the second vehicle swerved to avoid a rear-end collision. At the same time, the first vehicle maneuvered as if to make a U-turn, clipping the front end of the second car and causing it to flip over. The causing vehicle stopped and then sped off with one tire broken off its axle. The occupants of the vehicle then exited their vehicle and fled on foot.

It is unclear whether or not the victim driver sustained significant injuries.

A search for the the suspect driver was underway.
