KING COUNTY, WA — Two people died Sunday afternoon after strong winds caused a tree to collapse on a car near Issaquah, according to The Chronicle.

Eastside Fire & Rescue crews responded to the scene on Preston-Fall City Road Southeast between Interstate 90 and Fall City at about 3:30 p.m.

Authorities said two occupants were traveling in a white sedan across the heavily forested road when a tree landed on the vehicle.

The road was shut down for multiple hours as an investigation was conducted. The identities of those involved are unclear at this time.

A spokesperson with the Sheriff’s Office noted fallen trees are common on this particular road.

No further information has been disclosed.
