PIERCE COUNTY, WA — Three people were injured Monday night after a collision involving three vehicles in Tacoma’s Excelsior neighborhood, according to FOX 13 Seattle.
Tacoma Fire crews responded to the scene at the intersection of Yakima Avenue and South 59th Street shortly before 9:47 p.m.
It is unclear what led up to the accident, but authorities said firefighters had to perform a rescue extrication to remove two occupants trapped in their cars.
Both extricated victims and a third victim were transported to area hospitals with undisclosed injuries. Their severity of their conditions remains unknown.
Photos taken at the scene show extensive damage to the the driver’s side of one car, the front-end of another, and the passenger’s side of a third.
Yakima Avenue was shut down as an investigation was conducted.
