SKAGIT COUNTY, WA — A suspected DUI driver was taken into custody last Thursday morning after a serious crash on State Route 20 in Mount Vernon, according to Trooper Rocky Oliphant with Washington State Patrol.
Mount Vernon – Troopers are on scene of a collision on SR 20 and SR 536. It appears to be serious but not life threatening. Expect delays through the area as we investigate.

The collision occurred near the merge to State Route 536 and was first reported by WSP at 11:25 a.m.
Few details were made available, but authorities indicated at least two vehicles were involved.
It is unclear how many people were injured in the crash, but WSP suggested no life-threatening injuries were sustained.
Troopers arrested the causing driver for suspected DUI after observing signs of impairment. The crash was expected to be investigated as a possible vehicular assault.
